Free event this Wednesday at Willey Farms. Whiskey-Coriander Flank Steak

We are having a free event on Wednesday July 23rd at 8 a.m. at Willey Farms. Come by and let me buy you a cup of coffee.

-It has been another busy week of working for the 11th District. In addition to door knocking, we also had an event Monday morning at Tony’s Sausage House, an 11th RD meeting Monday night, a House PAC fundraiser at the Lewes Yacht Club Wednesday night, and the grand opening of Diamond State Auto Auctions in Townsend yesterday.

-Coming up this week I have several meetings with constituents throughout the week, the signing ceremony for two Veterans bills (HB296 and 324) at the AMC Museum on Monday, a meeting about the Kent County Regional Sports Complex on Monday night, coffee with constituents on Wednesday morning, a task force meeting on Thursday afternoon, Governor’s night at the Delaware Stare Fair on Thursday night, a Townsend Fire Co. BBQ on Saturday, and a Hartly Fire Co. breakfast on Sunday.

-I am proud to have been named to the 2014 Unclaimed Property Task Force.

-Friday August 15th from 6-11 p.m. is the Delaware Gala at Dover Downs. The theme for this event is the next generation of leaders. Please go tohttp://www.delawaregala.com/ for more details of this great event. Join us and help support the future.

-On August 2nd we will be participating in the Wyoming Peach Festival. Please let us know if you would like to walk or ride in the parade.

-We need a little help from the Friends for Jeff Spiegelman. We are going to be door knocking up and down the 11th District all week. If you would like to help going door to door, help drive door knockers, or have some of your friends and/or neighbors over for coffee with their local representative, please email us your schedule. We need your help in our first re-election campaign.

-We are especially in need of help all day this Saturday 7/26. Please let us know if you are interested.

Another delicious flank steak recipe for summer grilling
-1 1/2 oz whiskey
-1 flank steak
-tablespoon freshly ground coriander
-teaspoon freshly ground cumin
-teaspoon garlic powder
-6 freshly ground cloves
-Salt and pepper to taste
-teaspoon olive oil

Combine all ingredients in a plastic bag. Squeeze out the air and let sit for two days. Grill on high heat or right over the coals for 5 minutes a side. Let sit for 10 minutes and cut against the grain of the meat in very thin slices.
