Welcome to the Newsletter- Baked Wings- July 30 2017 Update

Friends for Jeff Spiegelman,

A special welcome to those who were just added to my weekly newsletter. I am sorry it took so long to get you signed up.

-Tuesday afternoon is a special event at the Chase Center. I am a guest panelist for the Millennial Summit. In particular, the topic will be on why my generation is not more involved and connected to politics and what can be done to change that. What do you think?

-Wednesday marks 9 years of marriage to my wonderful wife. Thursday we find out the gender of kid #2! Big week for the Spiegelman family! Thank you for all the well wishes.

-I will be unable to attend (see post above) but Wednesday night is also a meeting of the Townsend Town Council at 7:30 p.m. for those interested. I am going to try to send a representative to attend in my place.

-On Friday I am supporting a local institution by going to the Blue Rocks game. It is a superhero and fireworks night. Bring the family!

-On Saturday I will be walking in the Camden Peach Festival parade in support of fellow representative Lyndon Yearick. Saturday night I am guest speaking at another youth academy graduation for the Fish and Wildlife summer camp.

-A big thank you to everyone for the support at my constituent meetings. This week I am going to start putting together another round for the rest of 2017. Stay tuned for more details. I know many of you have expressed difficulty in attending due to schedule conflicts. Do you have suggestions for what might be easier for you? I can try to make that work.

I stumbled across this recipe on the internet and gave it a try. It works pretty well. It is not as good as fried chicken, but it is healthier and a heck of a lot easier to clean up. When they were done I tossed them in a honey-sriracha sauce.

-chicken wings

-baking powder

-salt

Rinse the wings and pat them dry. The drier the better. Preheat oven to 225 degrees. Season them with salt and then toss them in the baking powder until evenly coated. Place on a roasting rack and cook 20 minutes. Increase temperature to 450 degrees. Cook 30-40 minutes or until done. They should be golden brown.

— Thanks.
