Clayton Railroad Days- Citrus Tequila Wings- October 1 Update

Friends for Jeff Spiegelman,

A huge thank you to everyone who showed up to help with the 2017 Townsend Parade and Fair two Saturdays ago. I really appreciate your support. Congratulations to the town for another successful event.

-I have two town council meetings this week. Monday night at 7 p.m. is the Kenton meeting and Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. is the Townsend meeting.

-On Wednesday is the next meeting of the Marijuana Task Force. While I am not a voting member of the task force, I like to attend these meetings to get a better understanding of the legislation that has been proposed.

-On Saturday I am going to be walking in the Clayton Railroad Days parade. That evening is the Modern Maturity Center Annual Gala.

-Below is our meeting with constituents schedule for the rest of the year. Come to one or all for some good conversation about what is going on in Delaware politics.

One minute it feels like fall. The next day it feels like summer. Back and forth. So, here is a summer recipe for the last few days of July here in October.

-10 chicken wings

-juice of 2 lemons and 3 limes

-1 cup grapefruit juice

-1oz white tequila

-1 tbsp celery salt

-2 chopped garlic cloves

-1 sliced cayenne pepper

-1 sliced yellow sweet pepper

-1 sliced red onion

Mix all ingredients in a bowl or large plastic bag and marinate overnight. Add all ingredients to a grill basket (or make one with some foil with small holes punched in it). Smoke at 275 degrees for 1.5 hours. Separate the veggies from the chicken and set them aside. Increase temperature to 400 degrees. Crisp the skin of the chicken on direct heat. Toss with the veggies. Enjoy.

— Thanks.
