Friends for Jeff Spiegelman,
I am happy to announce that we have some constituent meetings scheduled. Stop by one or all for some political conversation.
-Happy MLK day, everyone.
-On Tuesday, we are kicking off the year in the Joint Sunset Committee. Tuesday evening is also a reception with the Governor ahead of his State of the State Address on Thursday.
-On Wednesday, I have bill in a senate committee. HB 231 would be very helpful for the different museums and archives around the state.
-On Thursday is a Small Business Caucus meeting, the Governor’s State of the State Address (at 2 p.m. You can listen in by going to the Delaware General Assembly website www.legis.delaware.gov) and General Assembly Sexual Harassment Training.
-Friday evening is our first constituent meeting of 2018. 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at Painted Stave Distilling in Smyrna. Come join us.
-Saturday morning is breakfast at the Blackbird Community Center.
-On Sunday is the annual football game benefit sponsored by the Delaware Police Chiefs’ Council.
-Here are our upcoming meetings that we have, for the most part, planned. Next week we should have the last few figured out.
-Friday, Jan 19th Painted Stave 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
-Tuesday, Jan. 23rd Tony’s Sausage 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
-Tuesday, Feb. 20th Little Italy Pizza Shop Noon to 1 p.m.
-Friday, April 20th Harvest Ridge 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
-Monday, May 14th Mamie Warren Senior Center Noon to 1 p.m.
For those of us who may be on a New Year’s resolution to eat healthier, this may help. It’s also delicious. So, enjoy.
-12 oz. can chick peas, drained and rinsed
-6 green onions
-1 clove garlic
-Juice of ½ lime
-Salt and pepper to taste
-Shelled and roasted sunflower seeds or pine nuts
Add the onion, garlic, and lime to a blender or food processor. Pulse until chopped. Add all the other ingredients except the nuts and olive oil. Blend. Add oil in small amounts to smooth out the mixture and make it easier to blend. Smear on healthy toast or crackers. Sprinkle the nuts on top.
