Pizza in Townsend- Jenn’s Pasta- January 17th Update

Friends for Jeff Spiegelman,

What a busy week! Our first three days back in session were rather eventful. This week coming up will be very similar.

-On Wednesday I have a meeting with Verizon engineers to talk about increased internet capacity in Western Kent County. I also have three bills in committee:

HB34 would prevent the Department of Education from forcing new rules, regulations, and procedures on a school district during the fiscal year.

HB227 would bring Delaware’s mead and cider laws in line with federal laws in order to promote our growing craft winery industry.

HB228 would allow Delaware’s growing craft beverage industry to sell their wares at farmers’ markets.

-Wednesday is also the Governor’s reception at Woodburn after session.

-On Thursday I will be attending the Small Business Caucus, the Governor’s State of the State Address, and a meeting promoting Operation White Tail.

-Friday is a lunch with constituents at Little Italy Pizza Shop in Townsend and a meeting with the Appo School District so they can bring me up to speed on the progress made on their comprehensive plan.

-On Saturday is a Muskrat and Meatloaf dinner at the Blackbird Community Center starting at 4 p.m.

-On Sunday is the Delaware Police Chiefs’ lunch at Dover Downs.

My next round of Meet and Greets have been scheduled. Stop by if there is something on your mind and you would like to chat.

This was the busiest first week of session I have experienced. As such, I did not have a chance to do much cooking. Instead, it was up to Jenn. She did a GREAT job.

-1 package of pasta

-1 lb ground meat that you thawed a day in advance because you thought you would have time to cook

-dash of garlic powder and onion powder.

Call your wife. Tell her you are going to be home late and ask her to please cook pasta and meat sauce. Listen to the pause that does not breed confidence. Offer your support on the phone that she can do it. Get home. Taste the sauce. Tell your wife it is perfect. Add the garlic and onion powders when your wife is not looking. Eat and enjoy.

— Thanks.
