-On Wednesday, I will be attending the official announcement of Smyrna being awarded the Downtown Redevelopment District designation from the State of Delaware. Well done, Smyrna!
-On Wednesday at 1 p.m. is the signing of Sb266 at the St. Andrews School. This bill establishes the Delaware Motion Picture and Television Development Commission. Why was St. Andrews School chosen for the signing ceremony? You have to like dead poets to know the answer to that…..
-August 11th at 7 p.m. is the monthly meeting of the Hartly Town Council.
-On Saturday is the always enjoyable Kenton Ruritan Annual Tractor Show.
-Pins With Politicians bowling tournament! August 28th from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Please join me, Representative Kevin Hensley, and candidate for senate Carl Pace for an evening of fun playing 9 Pin no Tap, where you can knock down 9 pins and still get a strike! New bowlers and professionals alike can have an amazing time playing this game. This is single bowler registration so you can come solo or bring a whole group of friends with you for the fun. This is one event you will not want to miss!

-I will be delivering yard signs and door knocking through most of the week. Tis the season for campaigning! I am looking forward to talking to the good people of the 11th District while wearing, what has become, my signature yellow shirts. Please let me know if you are interested in joining us!
-The stickers needed for my yard signs are in and I am ready to start sending them out. Please let me know if you would like a sign. I am happy to deliver one to you. If you have already requested a sign, thank you for your support.
-I am happy to announce my next round of constituent meetings through the summer. I invite constituents to stop by one of the following meetings to share a question or concern about a legislative or district matter that may be on their minds:
· MEET & GREET/WINE TASTING – Friday, August 12th – 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. – Harvest Ridge Winery (447 Westville Road, Marydel, DE)
· ICE CREAM SOCIAL – Wednesday, August 24th – 12-noon to 1 p.m. – Mamie Warren Senior Center (1775 Wheatleys Pond Road, Smyrna). Join Jeff for a free scoop of ice cream.
Sometimes, you want ribs. But, most of the time, you are too busy to do a whole schpeal to make them amazing. So, let’s do this the easy way.
-1 or 2 racks of ribs
-BBQ sauce. Whatever looks good.
Be sure to strip the membrane off the ribs. Brush with the BBQ sauce. Smoke or grill at 225 degrees meat side up. Brush with sauce every hour. After two hours, flip. Continue brushing every hour. After two more hours, flip. Continue to brush and cook until the meat just begins to fall off the bone (roughly another hour or two). Let the ribs sit for 10 minutes. Brush again and eat.
