Round Table on Marijuana- Bacon Wrapped Chicken Wings- January 28 2018 Update

Friends for Jeff Spiegelman,

The last few weeks were very busy in the General Assembly. Not many bills were passed, but there were a lot of measures that are being worked on that are not ready for prime time or that went through committee but were not put on the agenda.

-Happy birthday to my lovely wife!

-After arriving in Hartly this morning, I found out that they are not doing breakfasts until April. Sorry for any confusion.

-On Thursday I am a guest speaker in a round table discussion on the legalization of marijuana with Leadership Central Delaware’s Government and Policy Day sponsored by the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce.

-Friday is the annual Read Across America day. I am going to be reading to a couple of classes at Clayton Intermediate School.

-Here is our constituent meeting schedule. Come to any or all of these events for a little political discussion!

Thursday, Feb. 8th Hartly Hardware 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 20th Little Italy Noon to 1 p.m.

Friday, March 9th Willey’s 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Saturday, March 24th  with a rain date of Saturday, March 31st  3 Palms Zoo   Noon to 1 p.m.

Friday, April 20th Harvest Ridge 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Monday, May 14th Mamie Warren Senior Center Noon to 1 p.m.

Wednesday, May 23rd Young Bean 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

-Another week of unhealthy food. This one is especially so. But, it makes for a great “Big Game” treat for friends and family who may, at this point, be off the New Years Resolution wagon.

-Chicken wings cut into winglets

-An equal number of strips of low sodium bacon

-BBQ sauce (use your favorite or make your own)

-Garlic, onion, coriander, and chili powder

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Season each wing with garlic, onion, coriander, and chili powder. Tightly wrap each wing in a strip of bacon. Make sure the ends of the bacon are underneath each piece of chicken (that way the chicken holds the bacon down and keeps it wrapped around the wing in the first half of cooking). Brush each wing, top and bottom, with BBQ sauce. Bake on a rack with a pan underneath to catch the grease for 40 minutes. Flip and bake another 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.

— Thanks.
