Back to Session- Wild Garlic Dressing- April 18 2021 Update

Friends for Jeff Spiegelman,

Happy Birthday to my boy!   Sauly turns 7 this week, and is currently crying while the bounce house we rented for the weekend is going away.

-We are back in session this week in the Delaware General Assembly.  Tuesday and Wednesday are committee days.  Thursday is session by Zoom this week, and session by Zoom from our offices in Legislative Hall next week.  For a full schedule please go to legis.delaware.gov.

-We have multiple bills and events coming up this week that have wide ranging effects on the public.  On Monday, the House Small Business Caucus is meeting to talk about the Minimum Wage Increase bill that is going to be heard in the House Economic Development Committee at 3 p.m. on the 21st.  I am a member of the Small Business Caucus and I sit on the Economic Development Committee.  This will be a very interesting debate.

-I have been asked a lot of questions about the status of the High Capacity Magazine Ban bill and the Permit to Purchase bill that have been assigned to the Judiciary committee (of which, I am a member).  The details of exactly when these bills are going to be heard is still being worked out.  Most likely, one of them will be scheduled next week.

-We are still putting together our next meeting with constituents.  With the weather getting better, we might look for an outdoor venue.

I have been really into foraging lately.  It is an interesting family activity, and one of the few where you can eat your hobby. We really enjoyed this salad dressing.  PLEASE, if you are going to try this, double, triple, quadruple check what you are picking and CERTAINLY don’t rely on me for advice.  I am not an expert.  You have been warned.

-3-4 sliced cloves of wild garlic

-1 tbsp sesame oil

-1/2 a lemon, squeezed

-2 tbsp soy sauce

-1 chunk of fresh ginger

-1 tbsp sesame seeds

Combine all the ingredients except for the seeds into an airtight container.  Let sit overnight in the refrigerator.  When ready to use, pour through a metal strainer directly onto the salad.  Sprinkle on the seeds and enjoy.

-Enjoy your week.
