Facebook Live Event- Teriyaki Monkfish- March 3 2019 Update

Friends for Jeff Spiegelman,

There are a lot of questions out there about the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. Join me Tuesday evening LIVE on Facebook at 7 p.m. I will be with Saul Anuzis answering questions about what the compact is, and VERY importantly, what it is not (for example, it does not get rid of the Electoral College).

-I think the Groundhog lied to us.

-Monday night is the annual Game Dinner sponsored by the Whitehall Neck Sportsman Club. Muskrat… one of the few foods on the planet that tastes like its name.

-We are back in session this week with a variety of interesting bills in front of us. We are in for the next four weeks and then we have another Joint Finance and Bond break as they put together the money bills.

-Wednesday in the General Assembly I am hosting the state champion Smyrna High School “We the People” team who are going to represent the state at the national tournament. I encourage you to find out more and see how you can help some terrific civics students. Wednesday is a Townsend Town Council meeting beginning at 7:30 p.m.

-On Thursday at 11:30 a.m. is the next Sportsman Caucus meeting. These meetings are open to the public and I would love to have you join us. Afterwards, I am speaking to the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce Leadership Central Delaware group about some legislation we are expecting this General Assembly.

-We have completed the schedule for the next round of meetings with constituents. Please stop by one or all and let me know what is on your mind.

Friday, March 22nd – Harvest Ridge Winery 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 13th – 3 Palms Zoo Noon to 1 p.m.  Easter Egg Hunt (rain date Saturday, April 27th)

Thursday, April 25th – Little Italy Pizza Noon to 1 p.m.

My wife does not like monkfish so I usually only cook it when she is not around for dinner. That means I try to get creative with it. But, sometimes, simple is best.

-My teriyaki recipe (honey, soy, sririacha, lemon, sesame oil, chili oil, sesame seeds, ginger, and garlic)

-Monkfish

-Some sort of veggie

Marinate the monkfish for an hour in the teriyaki sauce. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray a roasting dish with a bit of cooking spray. Arrange the veggies in the dish with enough room to fit the fish. Place the fish in the pan and pour the teriyaki all around it and the veggie. Cook, uncovered, until the fish begins to flake, about 20-30 minutes. Eat and wonder why your spouse doesn’t like it.

— Thanks.
