For an April Fools joke, I am thinking about calling British Parliament and telling them I am running for Prime Minister. What do you think?

-We are currently on a one week break from session while the Bond and Legislative Oversight committees meet. I am on the latter.

-Monday afternoon I am attending the Delaware Aerospace Foundation Open House. I am really excited about it!

-On Tuesday, the Legislative Oversight committee is meeting. We are getting such a late start because we had some issues hiring two new analysts for the committee.

-Wednesday evening is a Townsend Town Council meeting starting at 7:30 p.m.

-Saturday is going to be busy with a couple events. First, I am attending the grand opening of the Autumn Rush brewery in Newark. Then, I am taking the family to the annual Food Truck Competition at Harvest Ridge Winery.

-We have completed the schedule for the next round of meetings with constituents. Please stop by one or all and let me know what is on your mind.

Thursday, April 25th – Little Italy Pizza Noon to 1 p.m.

I typically grow basil every year in the garden. Last year, my plant got huge. Normally, I rip the plant out at the end of the year but this year I got busy and let it be. The branches dried in the sun and smelled amazing this spring. Hmmm… what to do with them….

-Basil sticks, dried

-Flaky fish. I used ocean Perch

Preheat your grill for high, direct heat. Layer the bottom of a grill basket with the basil sticks, cover with foil, and poke a bunch of holes in the foil to allow the smoke through. Put on the grill until the smoke can be seen rising through the holes in the foil. Spray the foil with cooking spray and layer the fish on top in a single layer. Cover with foil and return the basket to the grill. Cook on direct heat until the fish begins to flake easily with a fork.
