A very busy week all around. It has been nice to spend some time with my family and on some hobbies while recovering from the Election. Thank you once again for your support. I am honored to serve another term as a state representative for Delaware.
-Happy Veterans Day. It is also the 100th year anniversary of the end of World War I.
-Now that the election is over we will soon be putting our meeting with constituents schedule together for the rest of this year and early next year. It is heartbreaking that one of my favorite spots, Willey Farms, will not be on the schedule for the foreseeable future. Good luck to the Willey Family as they rebuild an iconic store and landmark.
-I am doing an early Thanksgiving with my family this weekend because my brother and cousins are going to be in from out of town. That means you get Fry-Day recipes a bit earlier this year. Lucky you.
I have been using this spice mixture on a lot of things lately. You probably saw it in some form a couple of weeks or months ago, but this is a little closer to perfection. I use it on fish, chicken, popcorn, deviled eggs, etc etc etc. If you can’t get Peri Peri pepper for a West African flavor, you can use dried Scotch Bonnet peppers for a West Indian flavor or chipotle powder for more of a Mexican Picante flare. I don’t usually add any salt unless it is sodium free chicken bullion you are using
-1 packet or cube of chicken bullion
-1/2 tspn sugar
-Generous dash of nutmeg and paprika
-1/2 tspn ginger powder
-1 tspn garlic powder
-1/2 tspn peri peri chili powder (adjust for heat)
-Dash of salt (optional. See above)
Mix all ingredients together with a small whisk. Find creative uses for it. I’m telling you, I couldn’t stop eating the popcorn I seasoned with it and a dash of extra sugar. If you try it, let me know what you put it on!
