Boo at the Zoo- Healthier Ramen- October 9th 2016 Update

Friends for Jeff Spiegelman,

I am glad the hurricane missed us. In addition to the danger it posed, it would have been very bad for Delaware farmers who still had corn on the field. I hope for a swift recovery to those areas and people affected in the Southeast.

-On Monday night is the New Castle County Farm Bureau annual banquet at the Townsend Fire Hall.

-On Saturday, October 15th, there are two great events. First is the Hartly Fire Company Fire Prevention Open House at the Hartly Fire Hall from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Saturday night I will be at Boo At The Zoo at 3 Palms Petting Zoo starting at 7 p.m. Sauly is looking forward to both events.

-Hartly Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary is having a Sub and Soup Sale on October 14th from 12 p.m.-5 p.m. Prices for the subs are small : $6.00 and large: $8.00. Prices for soup are: pint: $2.50 and quart $5.00. Call Kathy at 302-492-8599 for more information. You may send a fax order in by Wednesday, October 12th to 302-492-3680. The money they make helps with the Fire Company who serves and protects your self, family, friends, and homes. Thank you for your help.

-From September 19th- October 14th, the City of Dover is establishing a Food Truck Pilot Program. Stop by City Hall between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday – Friday to have a bite with Delicious Cravings. As a huge food truck fan, I am going to try to get there as often as I can.

I invite constituents to stop by one of the following meetings to share a question or concern about a legislative or district matter that may be on their mind:

·         MEET & GREET – Saturday, October 15th – 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. – “Boo at the Zoo!” at 3 Palms Petting Zoo (924 Blackbird Forest Road, Clayton).  (The RAIN DATE is Saturday, October 22nd.)
·         COFFEE MEETING – Wednesday, October 19th – 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. – Tony’s Sausage House (2814 Kenton Road, Dover)
·         COFFEE MEETING – Friday, November 4th – 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. – Willey Farms (Townsend)

I love Ramen. But, as I get older, my body increasingly disagrees with me on that point. So how to have Ramen noodles without shortening your lifespan?

1 packet noodles (WITHOUT the flavor packet)
4 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
1 tbsp chili oil
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp garlic power
1 tbsp onion powder

Add all the ingredients except the noodles to 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil. Add the noodles and cook until tender. Enjoy and pretend you are young and invincible again.

— Thanks.
