Citrus-Cilantro Rice. Townsend Parade Saturday. September 18th Update.

Friends for Jeff Spiegelman,
A huge thank you to those who made our fundraiser Friday night such a big success and all those who joined the party! A special thank you to Jenn and Saul, Mom and Dad, Trevi Ristorante, Painted Stave, Janet and John, the Brothers Stonesifer, and (the person I tortured the most) Kira.

-Tuesday night is a fundraiser for Rep Kevin Hensley at Immediatoes in Middletown from 6-8pm. Please let me know if you would like more details.

-On Thursday, I will be attending the Kent County Republican Women banquet at Maple Dale. Please email me for more details about this great group of people and their very supportive organization.

-Friday evening is the Air Mobility Command Museum’s 30th Anniversary Banquet. Congratulations to all the staff and volunteers of the AMC Museum. You are a Delaware gem and your service to the public and to our men and women in uniform, past and present, (and their aircraft) is outstanding.

-On Saturday, come walk with the Spiegelman team for the Townsend Fair and Parade! This is one of our most important events of the year and WE NEED YOU. We will meet up at Townsend Fire Hall at 9:30am and the parade will kick off at 10am. Please go to https://www.facebook.com/events/638145509694518/ for more details.

-Sunday is a Hartly Fire Company breakfast. Yummy!

-From September 19th- October 14th, the City of Dover is establishing a Food Truck Pilot Program. Stop by City Hall between 9am and 230pm M-F to have a bite with Delicious Cravings. As a huge food truck fan, I am going to try to get there as often as I can.

-Thank you to everyone who has used the online system to make a donation. If you would like to make an online donation, please go to www.jeffDErepresentative.com and click on “Donate”. If you would prefer to mail a check, please send it to Friends for Jeff Spiegelman, PO BOX 869, Clayton, DE 19938. Thank you for your support!

-I will be delivering yard signs and door knocking through most of the week. Tis the season for campaigning! I am looking forward to talking to the good people of the 11th District while wearing, what has become, my signature yellow shirts. Please let me know if you are interested in joining us!

· MEET & GREET – Saturday, October 15th – 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. – “Boo at the Zoo!” at 3 Palms Petting Zoo (924 Blackbird Forest Road, Clayton). (The RAIN DATE is Saturday, October 22nd.)

· COFFEE MEETING – Friday, November 4th – 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. – Willey Farms (Townsend)

I used this rice with a Cuban meal I made the other day. It went really well under my blackbean recipe. You remember that one, right?

-2 cups white rice
-3 cups water
-Dash of garlic powder and salt
-Dash of olive oil
-1/2 tbpn orange peal
-Juice from 1 lime
-1/2 cup freshly chopped cilantro

Cook the rice with the water, olive oil, garlic, salt, and orange peal. When cooked, pour in the lime and cilantro. Fluff with a fork

— Thanks.
